Registered Dietitian Services
Dietitians help people of all ages to make healthy eating and lifestyle choices to promote wellness, as well as manage certain medical conditions. Dietitians can identify nutrition problems, and assist developing a plan to achieve your nutrition goals.
At South Huron Hospital, our Registered Dietitian is available on an inpatient and outpatient basis to answer questions, and provide reliable, practical information about food and nutrition choices. Areas of focus include:
- Healthy eating and mindful eating strategies
- Management of chronic conditions, such as:
- Heart Disease
- Diabetes
- High Blood Pressure
- Liver Disease
- Kidney Disease
- Osteoporosis
- Food allergies, intolerances, or sensitivities
- Gastrointestinal disorders such as
- Celiac Disease
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome
- Diverticulitis
- Crohn’s Disease
- Ulcerative Colitis
- Achieving and maintaining a healthy weight
- Malnutrition or unintentional weight loss
- Nutrition and pregnancy or feeding your baby
Referrals and Appointments
Physician referrals are accepted, but are not required for an appointment. Please note that group classes are not available at this time.
Methods of care delivery include:
- Face-to-face, in person
- Telephone appointment
- Video call (virtual face to face)
Location, Hours & Contact Information
Our Registered Dietitian’s office is located on the basement level of the South Huron Hospital. Services are available Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
