Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is the hands-on, drug-free treatment of injuries, diseases, or physical issues using techniques such as massage, stretching, and exercises. Physiotherapists assess, plan and manage the care of patients with musculoskeletal, cardiothoracic and neurological problems.

The South Huron Hospital Physiotherapy Department provides inpatient and outpatient services to assist patients with musculoskeletal, cardiothoracic, and neurological problems. Areas of focus include physical rehabilitation, injury prevention, and health promotion.

Outpatient Physiotherapy Services

Outpatient Physiotherapy services are limited to a select number of patients meeting certain criteria. If you have private insurance coverage, you will be asked to use these services first. Please note that we are unable to provide physiotherapy services for injuries associated with insurance claims (workplace injuries or motor vehicle accidents, for example). Additionally, patients seen in the Physiotherapy Department must have a referral from a physician, which can be faxed to 519-235-3405.

Inpatient Physiotherapy Services

Inpatient Physiotherapy services are available Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In this setting, our physiotherapist provides an individualized care program to help address health concerns specific to each patient.
