Reduction of Walk-in Clinic Services

Due to ongoing Health Human Resource (HHR) challenges the Walk-in-Clinic (WIC) in South Huron will only operate on weekends and statutory holidays from 11am – 2pm starting January 3, 2023.
With regional ED closures, the WIC has seen an increased in orphaned (unattached) patients and this has placed tremendous pressure on current staffing levels. Continued pressure on HHR has led to the unfortunate decision to reduce WIC hours during the week. The reduction of WIC hours will allow the clinic to better use its resources and provide safer care.
Beginning on January 3, 2023, the hours of the WIC will be 11am – 2pm on weekends and statutory holidays. During these hours, access to the WIC will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. Patients are encouraged to book appointments with their primary care providers wherever possible prior to accessing the WIC.
