SHHA Launches New Service

September 08, 2021

patient and ultrasound techSouth Huron Hospital Association (SHHA) is enhancing patient-centred care, by offering a new service to our community. On the suggestion of the staff in the Diagnostic and Imaging Department, SHHA will be offering Enhanced First Trimester Screening (eFTS) on Thursdays effective September 16, 2021. Enhanced First Trimester Screening requires nuchal translucency (NT) ultrasound and a blood sample. SHHA will be coordinating outpatient blood work though our on-site laboratory department following the eFTS ultrasound to ensure our patients have access to care all in one place, and during the same visit. SHHA Chief Nursing Executive, Michelle Wick, is asking healthcare providers to consider referring their patients who may otherwise have difficulty accessing care due to lack of transportation or other determinants of health.
