The Arthritis Rehabilitation and Education Program

The Arthritis Rehabilitation and Education Program (AREP) is offered through the Arthritis Society, and provides a range of services for adults and children with arthritis. Their team of specially trained Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Social Workers will provide you with the care, strategies, guidance and education you need to better manage your arthritis and live well. Services are free if you have a valid Ontario Health Card Number and a confirmed diagnosis of arthritis.


A clinician travels to the South Huron Hospital on scheduled Fridays, caring for patients by referral only. More information regarding AREP and the referral process can be found online at Arthritis Rehabilitation and Education Program or via the Online Referral Form.

CMHA Huron-Perth (Choices for Change Alcohol, Drug & Gambling Counselling Centre )

Choices for Change provides quality services, resources, and counselling support for the treatment and prevention of substance and behavioural addictions to individuals and their loved ones throughout Huron and Perth Counties. Services are voluntary and free of charge. Referrals can be made by contacting 1-877-218-0077 ext. 1.

Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism Clinic

The Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism Clinic provides patients with specialized assessment and care for:
  • Diabetes mellitus (all subtypes including Type 1, Type 2, and MODY)
  • General endocrine disorders
  • Lipid disorders
  • Pituitary/Adrenal/Gonadal disorders
  • Thyroid cancer
  • Pregnancy and endocrine disorders
The program is also affiliated with insulin pump programs at Stratford General Hospital and Alexandra Marine & General Hospital.

Our disciplinary team of allied care providers and educators work to support patients’ goals and needs by providing a continuum of services to ensure optimal health and quality of life.

Clinics run by appointment only and are offered on the following days and times:
  • Every other Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Every Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Every other Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
New patients are accepted by referral only. Fax requests should be sent to the attention of Dr. Nicola McLean, at 519-225-2700.

Echocardiogram Services

Medi-Share Diagnostic Cardiology Services has been serving Ontario communities for over 25 years. We are privileged to be able to work together with the South Huron Hospital (SHH) to provide echocardiogram services on a weekly basis. We are a CorHealth accredited facility. Referrals can be faxed to the SHH Diagnostic Imaging department at 519-235-4888. General Surgery Clinic

The general surgery clinic is staffed by Dr. Marcie McCune from Stratford General Hospital. This clinic runs most Tuesdays from 9am to 3pm at SHH in room B115.


Dr. McCune enjoys seeing a wide array of general surgical topics including GI - endoscopy, colonoscopy and laparoscopic surgery, gallbladder, hernias, skin lesions including “lumps and bumps”, and ingrown toenails, and she also has a special interest in breast disease - both benign and malignant. In-person consultations and follow-ups will occur at SHH. Procedures will occur at Stratford General Hospital or Clinton Public Hospital.

Gynecology Clinic

Dr. Jacqueline Wood, a female OB/GYN from the Stratford area, provides full spectrum Gynecology care monthly at SHH. This clinic typically runs the first Monday of each month from 9am to 4pm in room B115. This clinic is by physician referral only. Referrals should be faxed to Dr. Wood’s Stratford office at 519-305-0552.

One Care Home & Community Support Services

ONE CARE is a community based, charitable, not-for-profit health organization local to Huron and Perth Counties. ONE CARE offers a wide range of essential services to improve quality of life of seniors and older adults with health challenges, as well as caregiver relief. Programs include: Adult Day Program, Assessments and Care Planning, Assisted Living, Day/Overnight Respite, Dining/Social Programs, Friendly Visiting, Foot Care, Grocery Delivery, Home at Last, Home Help, In-Home Personal Support, Lifeline – Emergency Response, Meals on Wheels, Social Work, Telephone Reassurance, Transportation, and Wellness and Exercise. Pediatric Clinic

Dr. Carolina Montiveros travels to SHH once per month on scheduled Wednesdays. This clinic takes place in room B115. She cares for children by referral only from your family physician. Referrals should be faxed to 519-272-2323.

Skin Disorders

The Skin Disorders Clinic is comprised of a team of Family Physicians that have enhanced training, expertise, and designation in the field of practical Dermatology. They offer diagnostic, therapeutic and minor surgical services. Dr. Jessica Howard travels to the South Huron Medical Centre on scheduled Mondays from 1pm to 4pm, caring for patients by referral only. Sole Science

SoleScience operates a foot and lower limb clinic out of the Physiotherapy Department at SHH every Thursday morning. From gait analysis and custom foot orthotics, to comfortable footwear and compression stockings, the experts at SoleScience are here to provide you with solutions for foot and lower limb discomfort. Stress Testing Services

A stress test can provide insight into how well a person’s heart functions during physical activity. It can also help diagnose various heart conditions. A stress test typically involves walking on a treadmill or using a stationary cycle while medical devices monitor breathing, blood pressure, heart rate, and heart rhythm. During your stress test, a doctor and technician will be with you. Stress Testing appointments are available by referral and are offered once per month, usually on Wednesdays. Referrals should be faxed to 519-235-3405.
