Medicine/ Surgical Unit

SHHA has 11 acute care beds for patients who are admitted for various medical assessments and diagnoses.

Care is provided by an interdisciplinary health care team. Care conferences to review all inpatients are held bi-weekly. Patient care goals, progress and discharge plans are discussed using combined input from the patient, family, Nursing Staff, SW-CCAC Case Manager, Physiotherapist, Dietitian and Social Worker, and staff from other disciplines as needed.

Patients admitted to SHHA cardiac monitor beds are treated for heart disease, angina, myocardial infarction, chest pain and cardiac arrhythmias.
